Guidelines

1. Submission dates are September 1 - 29, 2012.
2. Photographer must live in Elko, Lander or Eureka County.
3. Photos (can be black & white or color) of pet reading submitted:
   • In person at the library (a digital file MUST still be provided)
   • Over the internet (a digital file MUST still be provided)

Note: A 3.2 mega-pixel camera is recommended to produce photo-quality prints up to 8.5" x 11". Creating poster-size prints larger requires a 5.0 mega-pixel camera or greater.

4. One photo may be submitted per individual.
5. The size of the photo should be between 5" x 7" and no larger than 8" x 12".
6. The back of each photograph must bear the name of the photographer, category, and contact number.
7. Categories for the age of the photographer:
   • Youth (0 - 12 year of age)
   • Junior (13 - 17 years of age)
   • Adult (18 and older)
8. Provide a digital file of the photo to this address.
9. Sign a photo release - A signed photo release MUST be on file before the photo is eligible for entering into the contest. (This form is available at the library, or may be printed at this link).
10. Voting will take place from October 1 - 13 either in person or on the library’s website.
11. Winners will be announced the week of October 15, 2012.
12. Winners will receive a “READ” poster (11” x 17”) of their entry as well as their pet’s name displayed on a book plate in an animal book specifically based on the winning animals’ type.
