"Dig Into Reading"

Each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning at 10:30 - Storytime

A time designed for preschoolers, but all ages are welcome. We read books, sing and dance, and have an art activity. It is a free program and no pre-registration is needed.

August 2 - Summer Reading Program Picnic from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Elko City Park - behind the museum

Celebrate the closing of the Summer Reading Program with hot dogs, chips, and a drink. We will also have a waer slide, games, bubbles, and will dig for treasure. This is a free program sponsored by Barrick Gold of North America. No pre-registration is needed, but be sure to stop by the prize booth to get a free raffle ticket for special prize drawings.

August 8 - Storyteller Adam Miller - 10:30 am

Legendary folksinger, storyteller, and autoharp virtuoso Adam Miller will bring fun, family friendly stories and music to the Elko County Library for a special Thursday storytime. Adam is a renowned American folksinger and natural-born storyteller who never fails to get his audience singing along. He is a performer who appeals to audiences of all ages. This is a free program sponsored by a grant from the Library Services and Technology Act. No pre-registration is needed.

August 7 - 14 - 21 - 28 - Dig Into Crafts

Children 5 years old and older have the opportunity to participate in a drop-in craft session from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Wednesday afternoons. The cost is $1 for each craft session and pre-registration is suggested to reserve a spot. A sample of each craft will be on display in the Children's Department fo the Library.
